Now Introducing (former) Officer White

During the fall, particularly on the tundra, we get visited by the Manitoba Conservation officers, doing license checks and verifying all game is tagged correctly. We have always enjoyed our interaction with them and actually, two of our former dockhands are now Manitoba Conservation officers. One officer we have befriended over the years, Staff Sergeant Grant White, who recently retired after a career with Resources. We were delighted when he agreed to join Hunting North as our new manager of our No-Name Lake caribou camp and Grant has done a marvelous job there this season.

We are pleased to share Grant will be awarded on Oct. 1 The Officer of the Year Award by the Association of Midwest Fish and Game Law Enforcement Officers. A very prestigious award and well-deserved.

Above is a great shot of Grant (second from left) being ‘inspected’ by his former brethren on their camp visit. The officer to Grant’s right in the photo is Officer Owen Shiloff, who in his younger years at University spent three of his summers as our dockhand at Ganglers. He was one of the best dockhands we ever had, we absolutely loved him. It’s a small world !

We are delighted to have Grant on the team and you may next see him running  one of our Spring Bear Camps next spring of 27.
